Arbour is back for the 2019 Marlborough Wine + Food Festival. We only shut our restaurant for the biggest, brightest and most exciting events… so if you don’t have your tickets yet, what are you waiting for?
Last year someone left festival manager Georgie unsupervised, and the VIP lounge was elevated to a whole new level; design by Betty + Co, market stalls, an open kitchen, chefs table and a HUGE specialty wine list.
Our guests had such a blast that we’ve kept all of her cool changes, and of course added a few extra things.
Jane Walkenhorst of Riot & Rose New World Gin is on welcome drink duty, serving her signature gin iced tea. It’ll be 11am after all. 2019 VIP guests will again enjoy a huge vintage wine list, Antipodes water and the only beer available at the festival!
Ora King Salmon is getting a Japanese twist, let’s just say this dish is my favourite Sunday night dinner! We go wild with Premium Game... serving a local meat we all love, but don’t get to eat often. Flaxbourne Pure teams up with Peter the Swiss Butcher to create a new version of last years crowd pleaser. Yes it is a lamb-dog and yes it will be downright smashable!
2019 also see’s Kono join our party, so this year Bradley has created a live chefs station serving Greenshell Mussel fritters with sweet corn and wild fennel mayonnaise.
Rounding out this epic day we have a dessert featuring Cranky Goat curd, and it just wouldn’t be summer without an ice-cream… or two.
We can’t think of a better way to enjoy New Zealand’s biggest party than lying back in the shade watching the main stage talent, a glass of Marlborough wine in one hand and delicious Marlborough produce in the other… oh and of course the fanciest VIP festival loos you have ever seen.
