The festival Master Classes are designed for wine and food lovers who want to learn more about the intricacies and mysteries behind the wines and wine making process as well as perfecting food and wine matches!

We are offering two fantastic Master Classes:

Master Class # 1

11:30am -12:30pm

Drink Pink: Think Cheese - Rosé and Cheese Master Class


When it comes to pairings, we all know Rosé’s partners are plentiful, often fondly sitting beside everything from salads to sushi. But our Rosé shaded friend has always cultivated a love affair with cheese. Hosted by Dan Jenkins from Kaikoura Cheese, and local winemakers Brian Bicknell from Mahi Wines and Sanna Stander from Two Rivers, you’ll taste your way through six stunning cheeses selected to match six award winning Marlborough Rosés. 

Master Class # 2

2:00pm - 3:00pm

Queen of the Grapes: King of the Seas - Sauvignon Blanc and Salmon Master Class


Perhaps the sassiest of all grape varieties, Sauvignon Blanc is vibrant and edgy and makes no apologies for it. Like anyone with an electric attitude she leaves a lasting impression on you. Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc epitomizes this distinguished varietal. Experience her in all her glory when appropriately paired with the royalty of the seas, Regal Marlborough King Salmon, in the Sauvignon Blanc and Salmon Master Class. You will sample six different styles of salmon, all paired with six Marlborough Sauvignon Blancs and will be hosted by Annabelle White from Regal Marlborough King Salmon, Greg Harris from Pernod Ricard and Jordan Hogg from Seresin Estate.
